If the lawn on Derendorfer Hans-Böckler-Straße could talk, it would probably have a few stories to tell. Every year, future professional footballers from all over the world are allowed to demonstrate their skills on it. From Bastian Schweinsteiger to Michael Owen to Patrick Kluivert, the biggest names in the game have scored goals on him. And by the way, the district league A footballers from BV 04 are also competing for the championship there.
This Sunday, a new chapter begins at the traditional black and red club. 30 talents who only got to know each other a few weeks ago are now forming the B-Youth of BV 04 and are dueling in the highest German youth leaguewith the best young teams in the Federal Republic. The promotion to the B-Junior Bundesliga was a true feat for the two coaches Mohamed Rifi and Karim Lahmidi succeeded. The next “miracle”, relegation, which most observers see as utopian, is now to follow.
In the short time that follows the successful relegation to remained at the start of the season, it wasn't just a matter of putting together a quick-witted team. Finding sponsors was also high on the to-do list. “We found great support from well-known companies,” said Lahmidi happily, for whom the Bundesliga adventure is also new territory.
From a purely sporting perspective, it would have been for them However, Derendorfer boys can run much better. Three days before the start of the season against Borussia Mönchengladbach, BV already has 16 injured players. Optimal preparation also looks different due to the large number of holidaymakers. “We have a ragtag team that has to find each other. This will need time. We will stack deep throughout the season,” said Lahmdi.
After years of being sidelined in sport, the Lower Rhine League youngsters of the traditional Derendorf club BV 04 managed to win yesterday morning Bang. The red-black B-Juniors secured their place in the promotion round to the Bundesliga with a 7:1 (5:1) win against VfB Hilden. If coach Mohamed Rifi's men are there too, BV would be the second team from the State capital, which makes the leap into the highest German youth class.
In the new edition of the district cup final, the Derendorfer had no trouble. After a remarkable opening goal by Ibrahim Dogan after just ten seconds of play, Maurice Ryboth, Sahin Ayas (2 each), Dion Knoche and Paul Gehler increased the result.
“At the beginning we are seen as purely a points supplier. We worked hard for our success and made the Derendorf miracle perfect,” said BV co-coach Karim Lahmidi.
Essener SG is most likely waiting there. However, under certain circumstances there could also be a duel with the potential Bundesliga relegated team Rot-Weiss Essen.
The first step to the Derendorfer Miracle has been taken: in the first leg of the qualification for the B Junior Bundesliga > BV 04 won 4:2 (1:2) against Essener SG > through and now has all the trump cards in his own hands. The second leg will take place next Wednesday at the local Hans-Böckler-Straße. A draw is enough to make the jump to the highest German youth league perfect.
In the Ruhr area, the red-blacks around coach Mohamed Rifi showed great morale. After two goalkeeping errors, the score was already 0-2 after 18 minutes. However, the connecting goal from Mert Oruc (38th) brought the guests back into the game.
After the break, the BV, led by the strong midfielder Ahmed El Yaouti. El Yaouti equalized after 50 minutes with a long-range shot from 27 meters. A free kick from 35 meters from Vato Murjikneli (60th) and the goal from Sahin Ayas (72.) brought the decision.
“That was a crazy game. Kudos to Ahmed, who took responsibility. Now it’s time to close the bag,” says assistant coach Karim Lahmidi.
